Overview

A better monitoring system

The SecurityProbe-x20 is the next generation dry contact device with an advanced 20 dry contact inputs. It comes in a 2U rackmount box. The SecurityProbe-x20 has a Linux Operating System with 128 Megabytes of Flash memory and 64 Megabytes of SDRAM. It is TCP/IP compliant and runs a lighttpd web server including https (SSL), Bash, Perl, vi, Telnet, PHP, Email and Nagios. The SecurityProbe-x20 has an easy to use web-based user interface for sensor configuration, data collection, and extensive graphing. Complete SNMP functions such as SNMP v3 encryption are supported. The web-based interface is written in PHP, allowing end-user changes such as language translation. The SecurityProbe-x20 has a battery backed time of day clock for accurate record keeping.

Many different types of equipment and devices use dry contact outputs to send alarm signals to remote panels, remote monitoring systems, and building management systems. Communicating the status of these dry contact systems is important in a complex Enterprise network or automation industry to protect the mission critical installations of expensive equipment.

Architecture

At the core of the SecurityProbe-x20 is the SecurityProbe, which is then married with the 20 dry contact system. This offers support for remote monitoring and management of various external devices. This integrated system enables connection and monitoring of devices like HVAC systems, security equipment, UPS systems, generators, industrial equipment, etc. The SecurityProbe-x20's embedded web server makes the addition of these devices easy.

The SecurityProbe-x20 comes with 8 full auto sense RJ45 ports for connecting any of our intelligent sensors. An additional 20 2-wire dry contact ports are provided giving a total of up to 68 dry contact ports. The specially designed 2-wire dry contact ports are easy to use and allow you to make your own dry contact cables quickly and easily.

The SecurityProbe-x20 is a completely embedded host and comes with a Linux Operating System. It is equipped with a TCP/IP stack, internal web Server, e-mail, SMS and Full SNMP functionality. The SecurityProbe-x20 is virtually a 'plug n play' device and is extremely easy to use and maintain. The installation process is also simple, and does not need an additional power supply or batteries when new optional sensors are added.

Embedded Linux System

The SecurityProbe-x20 is based on a 32-bit Xscale PXA270, 312 MHz processor. It includes 64 Megabytes of SDRAM and 128 Megabytes of nonvolatile flash memory; along with a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and two serial ports. With a real Linux kernel running on the system, the SecurityProbe-x20 is able to embed many applications such as a lighttpd web server, including encrypted https web pages, Bash, Perl, vi Telnet, PHP, Email, and Nagios.

4 Camera Features

Capable of connecting up to 4 external cameras, the SecurityProbe-x20 supports a wide range of analog cameras, such as existing security cameras, sophisticated night vision, or low cost CCTV cameras. The SecurityProbe-x20 can display pictures, in several sizes, up to 640x480 pixels. It is capable of displaying pictures from 4 cameras simultaneously.
Note: all cameras must use the same Video Broadcast Standard - PAL or NTSC

Video Conferencing and Sensor Graphing

Video conferencing is activated by connecting an external camera to the SecurityProbe-x20 for facilitating communication. The speaker and microphone are integrated SecurityProbe-x20 hardware. A regular Open H.323 protocol is used, with many different audio and video codecs supported (such as G.711-uLaw-64k, RFC2190 H.263-CIF, and H.261-CIF).

The SecurityProbe-x20 integrates and displays graphs, plotted by RRD Tool into its web-based user interface; with Apache running as the regular and secured web server. The individual graph (day, week, month, and year) for each sensor type can be customized, simply by modifying the script template used to generate a particular graph.

Intelligent Sensor and Dry contact Integration

The SecurityProbe-x20 works with every intelligent sensor in the Ravica family. Connect up to 8 of our autoSense sensors in any combination to monitor temperature, humidity, water leakage, airflow, security, detection of AC power line voltage, measurement of Digital Voltmeter, control relays, and much more. The Ravica range of sensors also includes an integrated data collection and graphing package; especially useful in trend and information analysis.

The SecurityProbe-x20 includes a single chip relative humidity and temperature multi sensor, with a calibrated digital output. This consists of a capacitive polymer sensing element, for relative humidity, and a bandgap temperature sensor. Both are seamlessly coupled to a 14bit analog to digital converter and a serial interface circuit on the same chip. This results in superior signal quality, a fast response time and insensitivity to external disturbances (EMC). By having both temperature & humidity sensors in a single sensor (which can extend up to 1,000 feet) the securityProbe can have up to 8 temperature & 8 humidity sensors. This extends the capability of the securityProbe to a maximum of 16 sensing parameters.

Sensor Notification Wizard

When an event occurs, the securityProbe can send SNMP traps, email, SMS, MMS, make a telephone call, and make audio alert. These alert messages are customizable and can include a picture of the event. Besides notification alerts, events information including pictures are stored in a nonvolatile flash memory. The number of pictures to take is customizable, for each camera, up to 2 pre-event, and 16 post-event pictures. Interval between each picture also can be customized. The timestamp is displayed below each image. The securityProbe has a battery backed time of day clock to facilitate accurate record keeping.

This illustrates 4 pictures from each camera at the total of 16 pictures from all 4 cameras under one event.

False Message Filter

In order to prevent false alarms, the securityProbe provides an extensive filtering of events. You can limit events based on the time of day or the day of the week. This is especially useful with the sensor like the motion detector, when you may want to process an event only when the business is closed.

Automatically Shutdown your Equipment in an Emergency

Ravica's Linux devices will automatically send a shutdown message to your Linux or Windows based servers - so if there is a power outage, for example, you can rest assured that your servers will be safely and automatically shut down before your UPS runs out.
